Arkansas State University Three Rivers Announces Tucker Hughes as Head Baseball Coach
Malvern, AR — Arkansas State University Three Rivers is proud to announce the hiring of Tucker Hughes as the new Head Baseball Coach. With more than a decade of coaching experience across both baseball and softball programs, Hughes brings a dynamic leadership style, proven recruitment success, and an impressive track record of developing high-performing student-athletes.
Coach Hughes comes to ASUTR from Southeast Arkansas College, where he most recently served as Head Softball Coach. Prior to that, he led the Georgia Highlands College softball program to national recognition—garnering 37 wins in one season, earning multiple conference championships, and developing numerous All-Conference and All-American players. Under his leadership, the GHC program set records for home runs, hits, and team ERA, and reached a #2 national ranking.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Hughes to our campus and the Eagles baseball family,” said ASUTR Chancellor Steve Rook. “His passion for the game, commitment to student success, and vision for building a competitive program make him the perfect fit for our college.”
Coach Hughes also brings extensive experience in academic advising, student recruitment, and fundraising, having successfully secured over $30,000 in program support at GHC. He is Rapsodo Certified and has helped place dozens of student-athletes into competitive summer leagues and four-year programs, including Division I schools and professional opportunities.
Hughes holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership in Sports Management from Waldorf University.
The Eagles baseball team will begin training under Coach Hughes this fall in preparation for the 2025-2026 season.
