ACT Prep Course

Digital Photography

Instructor: Judy Beard
Thursdays 6:00PM-8:00PM
June 24- August 12
The fee is $80

Areas covered:

Learn how to control the settings on your camera
Covers the exposure triangle which consists of ISO, Aperture, and Shutter
Learn how to decide on the best setting for the situation
Learn the difference between shooting in RAW or jpeg, and how to set white balance for different situations.
Introduction to photo editing in Photoshop CC. You will have the opportunity to edit the pictures you take and see how they can be improved with a few adjustments.

Basic Carpentry

This Class is designed for the beginner.  This is a 6 hour class that will be held on 2 consecutive Thursday’s June 3 & 10 from 5:30PM – 8:30PM.  All tools and material will be provided.

Cost of the class is $150 per student.
Enrollment ends May 28, 2021

Outcomes: 

  • Understand uses and safety of common carpentry hand and power tools.
  • Gain knowledge on how to approach and construct small carpentry projects.
  • Build one of the following items: a shoe rack, a plywood work stool, or a wooden step stool.

Carpentry Roof Framing and Rafter's

This class is designed for the DIY’er and the beginning carpenter.  This is a 9 hour class that will be held in 3 hour increments on 3 consecutive Tuesdays.  July 13, 20, and 27 from 5:30PM to 8:30PM.
All tools and material will be provided.

Cost $195 per student
Enrollment ends July 9, 2021

Outcomes:

  • Understand and recognize common roof systems
  • Understand fundamental roof framing components
  • Know basic principles on how to frame a roof structure
  • Gain knowledge of layout and erection of roof structures

OSHA 10 Construction Industry Classes

LIVE INSTRUCTOR authorized by OSHA and Dept. of Labor
This class is designed for any person needing their OSHA 10 Construction Industry Completion Card.  And for those desiring to understand Construction hazards.

2 Offerings of classes

1.    Two Saturdays: June 5 & 12, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and must attend both Saturdays
2.    Three Tuesday nights: June 1, 8, and 15 from 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. and must attend all three Thursdays

Students can only take one class or the other.  Students may not attend one Saturday and one Tuesday etc… These are separate classes.

Outcomes:

●    Earn your OSHA 10 Construction Industry Completion Card
●    Learn how to reduce and report work hazards
●    Better understand OSHA and why it exists
●    Raise awareness of Health concerns and safety risks in the construction industry
●    Learn Basic fall protection, fire prevention, power tool safety and guarding, and ladder and stairway safety

All students will receive OSHA handouts and study material.
Upon completion of class, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be mailed their OSHA 10 Construction Industry cards within 90 days.

Cost $80 per student
Company with 5+ students $70
